The more you tune an engine the more heat it will produce. Excessive engine bay temperatures can reduce power as well as damage engine bay components such as pipes and hoses.
Keeping under bonnet temperatures down as a good way to help reliability as well as keep power up. For this reason we now offer a range of products to help keep heat in the right places.
Flexible pipe/wiring shield:
Speed Shield is designed for ease of installation when component disassembly isn't practical. Just wrap the pre-formed, split flexible tube around any component and seal the sides with the high temperature adhesive strip to provide protection from hot pipes and engine components. The highly reflective aluminised exterior, combined with the insulating fibreglass interior, protects delicate wire bundles, cables and lines from damage caused by nearby exhaust pipes, headers or other heat generating components. It is supplied in 120cm lengths and is available in the following bore sizes: 6mm, 8mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm and 50mm.
Flexible heat shield tape:
Thermal Reflective Heat Shield Tape has a high micron aluminium foil heat laminated to the outer surface making it an excellent heat shield tape for covering firewalls, engine components, air intakes and filter boxes lowering air temperatures and increasing horsepower and fuel economy. A special high temp adhesive backing is laminated to the underside making the product very easy to apply. Note: Not to be applied directly to exhaust system. Supplied is a reel 40mm x 10 meters.
