Description
Many people are running more power with the Renault Clio 2RS 172 and 182 models as track day cars, they want a clutch with the ability to handle increased torque but still drive to events and on road. So RTS have developed a clutch kit for those who want the added reliability but don't want a super heavy bite, nor the grabby nature of a full paddle clutch.
The RTS clutch kits are designed to work with the standard flywheel and will comfortably cope with 235ft lb of torque without slipping on the twin friction clutch friction plate.
The RTS clutch kits have a number of features.
The flywheel facing clutch plate surface is similar in design to a standard clutch, but with a higher friction material made by Raybestos. The Raybestos clutch material is the best on the market and reduces slip and judder like some other brand organic clutches. The organic surface allows an element of slip to the clutch engagement. This makes it more pleasant in stop start traffic scenarios when pulling away but also reduces wear and tear.
On the opposite side the paddle style compound is again the best in the business and together with the uprated cover clamp quicker and harder than an original clutch, running significantly cooler than other brands. This makes the RTS suitable for higher power cars where the OEM clutch cannot cope. Use this for track day Clio’s, Race and Rally cars, both normally aspirated, supercharged or turbocharged.
The KTR/RTS Organic clutch has been designed and manufactured to exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal effort, ideal for NA lower power Clio's in road use.
RTS Twin friction has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 240 lbs/ft of torque.
RTS 5 paddle has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal. effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 300 lbs/ft of torque.
