Discover Hyundai's Automotive Evolution and Performance Enhancement with Scorpion Redpower Exhausts
Hyundai, South Korea's premier car manufacturer, founded in the late 1960s, initially gained recognition for producing reliable family sedans. However, a seismic shift occurred with the inception of the Hyundai Motorsport division. Their debut in the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 2014 catapulted them onto the podium, ultimately clinching consecutive manufacturers' titles. The triumphs and insights gained from motorsport ignited the creation of Hyundai's N division, paving the way for the groundbreaking i30N hot hatch in 2018. This remarkable success story led EXCELR8 Motorsport to introduce Hyundai to the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in 2020, marking a continued journey of excellence. Scorpion's involvement ensures a seamless transfer of cutting-edge track-to-road technology.
Scorpion's technical collaboration with Hyundai traces back to the late 1990s when they provided pivotal support to the UK-based company MSD (Motor Sport Developments), instrumental in bringing Hyundai into the prestigious world of WRC. During this period, the F2 Hyundai Accent, skillfully driven by Alister McRea, made a memorable three-year appearance in the WRC scene. Alongside various technical endeavors, Scorpion became a key partner in MSD's exhaust program, setting the stage for remarkable innovations.
At Scorpion Redpower, we take immense pride in presenting our latest offerings, designed exclusively for the Hyundai i20N. Our 76mm/3" pipework, expertly crafted from premium T304 stainless steel, forms the backbone of a comprehensive exhaust system, divided into four primary sections: the Downpipe, Front flex pipe, GPF-delete, and GPF-back system. The GPF-delete component offers a choice between resonated or non-resonated options, while the GPF-back system is available in both valved and non-valved configurations. The valved system, leveraging the car's original motor, can be effortlessly controlled by the driver through the drive mode select button inside the vehicle. Alternatively, the non-valved option eliminates the valve entirely, delivering an uninterrupted, sportier exhaust note. Our products feature flange fitting, facilitating seamless integration alongside the OEM exhaust system, granting buyers the flexibility to upgrade incrementally.
Once installed, our exhaust system substantially reduces the car's weight compared to the OE system, an enhancement that most drivers will find irresistible. When applicable, Scorpion systems incorporate acoustically engineered silencers, ensuring a drone-free experience across the entire rev range. To elevate the Hyundai's aesthetic appeal, we offer two carefully selected finishes for our signature Daytona tailpipe style: the polished Daytona or the black ceramic Daytona. These options empower drivers to professionally customize their vehicles with precision-engineered products, tailoring their systems to individual tastes.
