Description
Many people are running more power and using the Renault Megane 2RS models as track day cars so they want a clutch with more bite, but still drive to events and on road so don't want a super heavy bite, nor the grabby nature of a full paddle clutch. The RTS clutch kit is designed to work with the standard DMF and will comfortably cope with 220ft lb of torque without slipping. If you have an SMF setup then please get in contact as you require a different setup to stop clutch rattle and damage to the gearbox. This is a hybrid clutch with twin friction compounds to give the best of both worlds.
The RTS clutch has a number of features. The flywheel facing clutch plate surface is similar in design to a standard clutch, but with a higher friction material like other brand organic clutches. This allows an element of slip to the clutch engagement. This makes it more pleasant in stop start traffic scenarios when pulling away.
On the opposite side the paddle style compound and uprated cover clamp quicker and harder than an original clutch. This makes it suitable for higher power cars where the OEM clutch cannot cope.
*We recommend fitting a new OE slave cylinder when changing the clutch.
This kit does not include a flywheel or slave cylinder, this listing is for the clutch kits only.
The clutch fitment is specific to the Megane flywheel fitted to the car, please check you order the correct clutch kit for your flywheel fitment.
RTSTF-2668 (Organic) Has a tourqe holding capacity 35% higher than the stock clutch.
RTSTF-2668 (Twin friction) has been designed and manufactured to significantly exceed the original clutch system whilst also maintaining OE pedal effort, thus delivering a torque capacity of 365 lbs/ft - 494NM of torque.
RTSTF-2668 (Cerametalic) Has been designed to hold 475 lbs/ft - 644NM of torque.
