Our KTR400 turbo kit is now available for all Megane 2 RS and Megane 3 RS models and after much dyno and road testing we are very pleased to be able to release this kit which has been designed to offer great power at a very affordable price. We have achieved this by producing a kit which is designed to be used with the standard exhaust manifold and using an internally waste gated turbo therefore reducing the need for a tubular manifold and external waste gate.
The kit is based around the very capable Garrett GTX2867R Gen 2 turbo, which has a peak power capability of 550bhp and this turbo has been chosen due to its quick response and spool up time as well as its ability to produce good power at sensible boost levels. We have successfully run this kit and turbo on Megane 3 RS, Megane 2 RS and even Megane engine Clios where on every application we have been able to achieve over 400bhp quite easily while still retaining the standard exhaust manifold.
The comprehensive kit consists of the GTX2867R Gen2 turbo along with our custom KTR 3Â” stainless steel downpipe, KTR billet turbo to manifold adapter plate, titanium lockable turbo fixing bolts, KTR Megane specific turbo outlet hose, water lines, oil feed line, turbo oil drain adapter as well as gaskets and fittings.
Dyno and road testing has shown huge mid-range and top end performance along with quick spool up times for a turbo of this capability resulting in a very usable power band, low speed driveability is also very good.
To get the best from this kit you would need to be running a forged engine in order to handle the power that it can produce, however you could run this kit in standard engine with a lower boost level to limit peak power. This kit will also require the ecu to be mapped in order to get the best performance and reliability from it and we would not recommend fitting this kit to any engine without having it mapped immediately.
Our own Alien Green Megane R26.R is running this turbo kit along with one of our forged engines in which it produces 404bhp at a conservative 1.5 bar of boost pressure. To give you some idea of our engine specification it is running forged pistons and con rods, KTR sports cat, KTR 3” exhaust system, KTR alloy intercooler, KTR induction kit, 630cc injectors, uprated bearings, Cat Cams uprated valve springs along with new gaskets, bolts and belts. We are able to supply all the parts you would need for a forged engine build.
There will also soon be the option of our KTR tubular exhaust manifold and large bore KTR air filter inlet hose to suit the GTX turbo for those who would want to go further with their tuning.
